PPAP defines generic requirements for production part approval, including production and bulk materials. The purpose of PPAP is to determine if all customer engineering record and specification requirements are properly understood by the supplier (the organization) and that the processes have the potential to produce product consistently meeting these requirements during an actual production run at the quoted production rate. Some of the benefits of PPAP:
Jan Roovers Associates, Inc. has trained hundreds of design and process engineers as well as people in manufacturing and quality control in the development and application of PPAP. We encourage our course participants to bring their PPAP documents to the course. Our willingness to review and discuss these documents has earned us very positive feedback. Our most requested arrangement is the 0.5-day PPAP introduction course combined with our 1-day APQP and 1.5-day FMEA courses. These courses are geared (as much as reasonably possible) towards the specific needs and expectations of the participants. Small group discussions and customized (company-specific) exercises are used to help participants internalize, and immediately apply what has been taught. Consulting
