Statistical Process Control (SPC)Controlling the process leads to better products.Controlling products does not lead to a better process! Quality management system (QMS) standards include direct and indirect references to SPC. Please refer to the following documents:
The overall goal of SPC (including other statistical techniques) is to gain understanding of the process and its variation. This understanding must become the basis for action. This action must lead to reduction in process variation, resulting in continual improvement of the process and products. As is the case with all other quality-related initiatives, success of SPC depends greatly on top management's commitment and their visible, unwavering support. Some of the benefits of SPC:
Jan Roovers Associates, Inc. has trained hundreds of people in the implementation of statistical techniques such as SPC. We encourage our course participants to bring their SPC charts and related documents to the course. Our willingness to review and discuss company-specific SPC issues has earned us very positive feedback. Our most requested course is the 3-day SPC introduction course. This course is geared (as much as reasonably possible) towards the specific needs and expectations of the participants. Small group discussions and customized (company-specific) exercises are used to help participants internalize, and immediately apply what has been taught. Public Courses
